We are looking for a Data Scientist to be part of our newly-created Data & Actuarial Sciences team in Lisbon.

As Data Scientist you will develop data science software solutions relevant to the insurance business. For that purpose, you will work in close cooperation with Data Science & Analytics team based in Zurich. Furthermore, you will work together with a local team of Data Scientists in Lisbon, meeting the needs of in data science projects.

The successful applicant will:

• Have hands-on experience in one or more of these subjects: machine learning, data mining, text mining, natural language processing, and computational linguistics;
• Have hands-on experience of relevant software frameworks and libraries in Java, Scala or Python;
• Hold a degree (BSc or MSc) in Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics;
• Be fluent in English;
• Show evidence of an entrepreneurial spirit, strong analytical skills, methodological thinking and problem solving capabilities;
• Knowledge of German (is a plus);
• Knowledge of French (is a plus);
• Previous experience in working in the insurance industry (is a plus).
